Time-Traveling Meditation

In some ways, meditation is a lot like time traveling.

Return to Equilibrium

meditating returns us to equilibrium

Meditation allows one to return to a mental, emotional and even physical state of rhythmic equilibrium. However, each day that state is different in every way partially because it can never be the same thing twice, but also because it is a part of us that is constantly fluctuating.

Vulnerable Reconnection

At every breath we are most vulnerable because every breath invites all things into you. While this may seem overwhelming or unpleasant to some, it is also important to note at every breath is when we are at our strongest, for in every breath we are processing and transmuting that information through our bodies and it is in every breath that we are reconnected to all things in this world.

Fueled by Little Things

As cliched as it sounds, it’s the little things in life that can sometimes fill our heart and soul with purpose and warmth. Sometimes people (myself included) can get so caught up on the big goals and major shifts happening and that we want to happen, that we forget or ignore the little moments throughout each day that can inspire and fuel us.

Remember Our Connection

All of our connections to all things is fleeting; people like friends and family, ideas like love or depression, places like art galleries or coal mines, other living entities like grass or water, it’s all fleeting. But while it is all fleeting, it is important to remember we are connected to these things through every breath and heartbeat.

The Power of Words

Meditating on my words.

Meditating on my words.

In the past I have used my words carelessly, and as a result it has hurt some people. I can understand how certain things said can have a momentous and megalithic reaction in some, even though it was never my intention to cause such large reactions. Our words are valuable, for they are the air we breath vibrating through us into the consciousnesses of others. And while I realize and understand I am NOT responsible for the actions and reactions of others in how they will interpret & perceive what I say, part of me feels it necessary to take responsibility for the carelessness in which I did speak.

This is part of my humanity.

To be clear, his isn’t meant to be a call for political correctness or censorship of thought and words, for I value the freedom of self-expression and speech quite highly. However, this is a call to be mindful of the words we say and the context in which we are using them.

Generation of Change

Today I published an article on Medium about a subject I’ve been meditating on for quite some time, but only recently have words come through to express these thoughts.

I encourage everyone to check it out if you feel like it by either clicking on the link above or here…

Breathing Power

The power of breath on the body, every movement & thought changes us. The air is more powerful than we give it credit. Not only does the air intensify or cool the heat from the sun, but it also carries our words, thoughts and emotions.

Each breath has the power to eradicate fear should we so choose to focus on that. Each breath has the power to help us remember that we are surrounded by love as it dwells within. Each breath can bring us to the present moment.

This is what breath is all about.

The Meaning of Life

New video on the blog. While I think the meaning of life is different for everyone, there are a few things I think we can all agree upon.

It’s a Trap

Sometimes, people trap themselves into their own perpetual self-fulfilling prophecy prison traps. An example might be someone who often says things like “I feel like nobody wants to help me with anything,” yet also says “I just need to do things myself to keep myself distracted,” among other phrases that catch some in a near perfect trap of inability and apathy.

Granted, every situation is different and context is needed. This isn’t meant to be a blanket statement. These situations are complicated, especially when we can see people who put themselves into these perpetual self-fulfilling prophecy prison traps. In these instances, being around those who trap themselves, it is important to note that we can only do so much to help. This isn’t meant to say we should be apathetic toward people like this or love them less, but we should be aware of how much time and energy we spend with people like this, as after a while it can prove to be draining.

Our breath is a journey

Breath is a timeless
pilgrimage toward being.

Abide the journey.

Earth Rhythm

Mother earth’s rhythms absorb any and all vibrations if we allow her to.

Simply being outside, in nature, even if it is a city park, being in a natural space is enough to allow our bodies time to synchronize, perhaps briefly with the rhythms of the earth, which in turn can, in a sense, cleanse or repair certain parts of ourselves if we allow for a release.
