Mind Grasp

Our minds enjoy grasping at everything. It’s almost like it has to keep moving to stay alive. Even in rest, our mind analyzes every inch of the feelings and thoughts we’ve had since birth. Then our mind creates tentacles to wrap around certain ideas, like love, what we ate for lunch and something someone said to us in middle school. Our mind fixates on these ideas and then says “these ideas” are who we are.

When we quiet our minds, the grasp of these tentacles loosen. And as we continue quieting our minds, the tentacles continue to loosen, until eventually they are all gone, and we can breathe in the fullness of ourselves.
